Transactions - Only in the Present
Sales, purchases, receipts and payments help us to feel present and alive but like any drug that affirmation only exists for a moment. There is still the loneliness of existing to deal with. The belonging of the momentary purchase encapsulates the need for human connections and trust. If the purchase is of high value humans feel seen and a human connection is felt. But the human bond is transitory, ultimately not a deep human connection. The energy and trust felt during a deeply meaningful primary human connection is one that makes for a sense of belonging where you feel heard and understood. Given that a very high proportion of connections are increasingly digital and occur through AI technologies. Where does? and how do human connections form? giving lasting meaning for our consciousness - rather than first removed - a remoter digital experience where memories are stored and exist

Marvin Minsky’s "Society of Mind" theory posits that intelligence is not a singular, unified phenomenon. Instead, the mind is a decentralized "society" made of billions of mindless, specialized mini-components called "agents." Alone, these agents are mindless, but together, their interactions, conflicts, and collaborations produce consciousness, learning, and rational thought.
Thereby consciousness is a fractured web connecting via experience and the self is an illusion because we all have multiple images of self which emerge when triggered by the right environment and company.
The addition of the digital connection creates another image of self. But here inhibitions are not camouflaged particularly as new threads of common connection are created by the digital experience and lack of necessary camouflage. You might argue that the digital self is the satisfaction of the ego.
Minsky compares consciousness to a suitcase. Holding all the parts (agents) going with us wherever we travel, each image of self being unpacked when needed.
