Painting Iris

In Greek mythology, Iris was the goddess of the rainbow, who rode the rainbow as a multicolored bridge from heaven to earth and in ancient times, the Iris was considered a symbol of power and majesty, the three petal segments representing faith, wisdom and valour

Iris personifies the rainbow and just as the literal rainbow forms a bridge of light between sky and ground the Iris is a connection between Heaven and Earth.

Iris also served both as a messenger and a conveyor of water and for Van Gogh the Iris imbued calm in a world of calamity. It also helped Van Gogh glimpse some hope of a life for the future. Gino understands this and relates the Iris to calamity in the world to the onset of climate change with its destructive forces, and the increasing human psychosis created by the drive to become a species defined and controlled by technology which increasingly changes the truth and reality.

Life

Biology a natural science which studies life with several themes that unify into a seemingly coherent field. Energy is one of the major fields because it is the means with which gives life motility to grow and reproduce. All organisms are made up of cells which form a narrative of life and its evolutionary process. Life is encoded in genes which transmit information both unifying and giving a diversity to life.  Each life is capable of regulating their wellbeing by controlling their internal environment.  Climate change is a force which can overturn this natural balance, particularly if it is too fast, too intense, or the evolutionary process finds it unmanageable then an extinction event will take place.

The Iris shine out with a clarity of purpose using its intense colours singing out in a clear and light tone. It's wonderful architecture built entirely for a clear and conscise purpose. Attracting life offering to its environment and habitat a share of its rewards for a collaborative pollination of its user and its environment. Much of this goes unnoticed but is a wonderful example of what life can be without commodity.
